Los Angeles Times has an interesting piece about the strike in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Per the article:
The disruption is costing an estimated $1 billion a day at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, on which some 600,000 truckers, dockworkers, trading companies and others depend for their livelihoods.
1 BILLION dollars a day. This strike will have much broader reach than just Southern California as the Los Angeles/Long Beach ports are the largest transport hub on the West Coast.
